倒裝句

為強調句子中某一部份，或為字序方便，而將一般敘述句的位置改變(S+V+O)，所形成的句子稱為「倒裝句」。
重點1 否定副詞
否定副詞(片語) 置於句首時需倒裝
公式：
否定詞 + be V + S
+ 助V+ S
+ do/does/did + S + V
+ have/has + S + p.p.
例句
1. I dreamed little of it.
→ Littledid I dream of it.
2. I will not turn my back on you under any circumstances.
→ Under no circumstances will I turn my back on you.
3. Patty rarely goes out at night.
→ Rarely does Patty go out at night.
4. Mrs.Lan has never been so upset.
→ Never has Mrs.Lan been so upset.
5. John not only heard a loud bang but also saw the accident.
→ Not only did John hear a loud bang but he (also) saw the accident.
注意：
否定副詞片語置於句首純粹修飾主詞時則不須倒裝。
例：Not only John but also his wife saw the accident. |
